With over 100+ awards between RDI/VMSD, A.R.E. and Chain Store Age Retail Store of the Year design competitions, I feel that the architecture photography of retail interiors is my main grasp. Take a look at some of the award winning projects I’ve photographed, as well as some that I feel should be.
ChuteGerdeman developed this next generation Base Exchange store for America's military. The new AAFES prototype at Tinker AFB features a new identity, wayfinding signage and perimeter graphics. Other enhancements include changing the traditional grid layout of the store and improving the visual elements and standards. The new floor plan focuses consumers to three shopping categories: Life, Home and Style.
City Target Chicago
Located in the iconic Sullivan Center, Fitch carefully meshed the look and feel of the Target brand with a national architecture landmark. A welcome addition to the State St. retail district, it also is one of the Best-Designed Stores of the Year/DDI Magazine.
A Chicago located marketing agency specializing in brand and retail marketing, Upshot's new headquarters in Chicago's Merchandise Mart feature architectural elements such as amazing conference rooms and an integrated workspace that promotes collaborative and creative thinking.
The Flagship Store
The New York Giants and Jets share the New Meadowlands Stadium. ChuteGerdeman designed a 10000 sf store that converts team product in less than four hours. Using LED lighting, innovative fixtures and state of the art digital signage, the site is flexible and conveys both NFL team brands equally.
Timberland's Men's Footwear Concept Shop
The "Modern Urban" theme of this Timberland shop presents a lifestyle experience that's unified through art, materials and product presentation. The minimalist design and selected finishes enhance the look and feel, while keeping the shop brand appropriate for both urban and casual footwear.
Look Fab Moments
The Yorktown neighborhood was chosen for the next generation of P&G Canada's Look Fab program. The new temporary exhibit is more dramatic than the original concept with deep colors and moodier lighting adding richness. Beauty tips are still the focus while extending the Proctor and Gamble beauty brands.
Eddie Bauer Easton
This new lodge inspired store brings EB back to it's roots. The exterior architecture showcases the brands heritage using window displays and four plasma screens. Nature inspired fixtures help sell a fresh new product line that is more outdoor and performance based. This Easton Town Center retail space is a great extension of an iconic brand.
JGA and Casual Male Retail Group Inc
Destination XL is a concept store near Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL. JGA designed a space that marries two brands, Casual Male XL and Rochester Big and Tall. Using four distinct zones to direct consumers, the site offers a wide range of both upscale and casual apparel to give big and tall customers an experience similar to other men's retailers.
Fitch Inc Fixtures Living
Fitch Inc. was asked to create a "groundbreaking retail experience". This Silver LEED status Costa Mesa, Ca site does that and much more. It is a place where customers can dream, play and choose products for their daily lives. It features a barista, 30 vignettes, and Bridgett's-a modern kitchen where guests mingle with a full time chef.
Buffalo Wild Wings
Fitch/Buffalo Wild Wings
Designed to maintain the energy of a sporting event with an enhanced audio visual offering, this Fitch Inc concept in Cincinnati, OH features flexible bar and family areas as well as a brand awareness entrance that prominently displays retail offerings as well as seating for waiting customers.
City Target Seattle
Fitch designed a smaller footprint urban friendly store near Pike Place Market. With urban dwellers, commuters and tourists in mind, this new concept is one of the Best-Designed Stores of the Year/DDI Magazine.
Home Meridian/Martin Roberts Design
Designed by Martin Roberts Design, this High Point NC show space features dramatic wall and lighting treatments and Feng Shui colors and elements. The first floor common area gives the staff a comfortable, architecturally pleasing space to entertain, visit and sell to buyers from all over the world.
Super 1 Foods
Super 1 Foods' new branded concept prototype store in Carencro, LA was designed by api(+) to provide a customer-friendly warehouse experience featuring excellent produce and low prices in a colorful product-centric environment highlighted by an intuitive layout and inspired merchandising.
SuperValu Store Design Services
This SuperValu/MegaFoods new build in Eau Clare, WI was created with attention to detail in mind, as well as customer experience. The store utilizes local street names for the aisles as well as the city's first Caribou Coffee shop.
The Miramar, Florida prototype earned:Chain Store Age Retail Store of the Year, First Place, ISP/VMSD Retail Design Award, Award of Merit; and NASFM Retail Design Award. A wonderful collection of awards for a well designed site!
ABC Fine Wine & Spirits
Tampa Bay based API(+) designed and implemented this ABC Fine Wine and Spirits prototype. This ground up concept in Ocala, FL features a bold, colored way-finding system and point of sale communications with fresh environmental graphics that make the store appealing to more upscale clientele. Features include a cigar humidor and a wine vault enabling clients to store their wines at temperature until they are ready to enjoy it.
This Somerset Collections Mall prototype is iconic of the New York City brand. The new suburban design feature the signature brown and white Henri Bendel striped fixture and wall treatments as well as darkened floor and ceilings to showcase the highlighted merchandise.
New Balance New York Experience Store
Located in Manhattan's Flatiron District, the store features a miniature track for consumers to test out New Balance products. It also includes a demonstration area, visible to pedestrian traffic on New York City's Fifth Ave, that enables customers to see their shoes being made.
This Easton Town Center Express site is designed to be a modern three dimensional showcase for their fashion. Featuring mannequin showcases and runways as well as a Denim Lab, this site truly takes Express into a young men's and women's destination site.
